It's still taking a little while for it to set in that Heath Ledger has passed, but I really do believe that this was not a suicide attempt, until there is further evidence. I told Caitlin today and she was just as shocked at this news - we both loved him in Brokeback Mountain.

And now I find out that the Westboro Baptist Church are planning to picket his funeral just because of that film. I swear to God they have no empathy, feelings or hearts sometimes! They think they're doing God's will but I believe they are doing quite the opposite. Have some respect for his family and friends for God's sake. I just hope they are stopped before this happens.

Tis a sad, sad day.

Just when you think this couldn't happen, I go on msn.com to check my emails and here is what awaited me:

BREAKING NEWS: Actor Heath Ledger found dead in his NYC apartment. Developing...

I was so shocked I think I stopped for breath.

'NEW YORK - Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment in a possible drug-related death, police said. He was 28.

According to the New York Times, Ledger was found naked and unconscious with pills strewn all around him in an apartment owned by actress Mary-Kate Olsen.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the apartment. The housekeeper, who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there, found him unconscious at approximately 3:30 p.m. ET, according to the New York Times. After receiving no response from the actor after shaking him, they called authorities'.

I had suspicions if it was a coma, but maybe i was just thinking this to block out the reality of it all.
Only 28...

I usually get sentimental if any well-known actor/actress died, but one so young? I really wasn't expecting this at all. I thought of all the films and friends he made and especially his children.

He was a respected actor who made many diverse and well-thought choices in his career. I'm sure we will miss him and deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

I'm sorry this is such a serious post but it has to be said, I haven't been so shocked in a long while.
